Hey needs to stay on and focus on youth development for the 2012 Olympics and ANC. He needs to be honest with the Liberian people and tell them that it's better off to rebuild or build the Lone Star form the youth levels instead of focusing on 2010 World Cup. We have young players around the world who are between 20-25 years that could be the foundation of a future Lone Star team. Lone Star needs about a 4-5 year plan. With such a plan you'll see results. Lone Star and LFA have been operating on a 3-6 month plan which is always just the months of the World Cup qualifiers.

Coach Hey should not quit his post. The team he has is not at all bad. However, it will take time to build it into a strong team that can make all Liberians proud. As for the current competition, it is over for Liberia. If I were in his shoes, my focus at this moment will be on taken this team to the next level in 2012. This requires more training. This team should be sent away for professional training just like Weah, Debbeh and Nagbe were taken to Brazail. We will rise again, but it will take time for us to get there.

I know the couach is disappointed but he should not be. Liberia failure is that she has no organization. Hey can jump start organization and make Liberia a force to reckon with come 1012. He can still fight and take Lone to the ANC.

I don't know if this will work, but the FLA and Lone Star needs to reach out to Collins John if possible. Below is the literature on that so maybe the legal minds can figure it out and make a case to FIFA because we all know that he won't be playing for Holland again anytime in the future. from my lay man understand he could play for Liberia because when he "played" for Holland it was in friendlies and I don't think he even touched the field becauce he was just a sub. I think the rule says he if he played in a competition (which I think means World Cup or Euro). Anyway, just a thought, but read the rule(s) below:

John is ineligible to play for Liberia. He's actually played in a friendly match for Holland. He's also over the age of 21. he was born in October of 1985 making him 23 years old. read article 18 below
Article 18
Change of Association
'
If a Player has more than one nationality, or if a Player acquires a new nationality, or if a Player is
eligible to play for several representative teams due to nationality, he may, up to his 21 1
t birthday,
and only once, request to change the Association for which he is eligible to play international
matches to the Association of another country of which he holds nationality, subject to the

following conditions:

All I'm saying is that, it needs to be looked into more carefully by the legal minds and powers to be. Fredi Kanoute didn't start playing for Mali until 2004 when he was about 26/27 years old. Did CJ actually played in the 2 games for Holland or was he just warming the bench? From my lay man's view/understanding, the rules states that player have to had played in a competition with said country to be disqualified from switching nationality. I personally understand competition to be tournaments such as (WC, Euro, & ANC) so let FIFA define it for us if we make a case. I don't think a friendly is a competition. This just needs to be explored by the legal minds because it's just not as black and white as it seems from the outside. I think there's a gray area that could be explored/manipulated by the LFA, Lone Star, and The Liberian legal counsel in Europe. LFA and Lone Star needs to also start courting and tapping Alex Nimo now before he gets invited by the USA. These big/develop countries are just inviting these kids to theie senior national teams to ruin the kids' chances of playing with their country of birth (example, Holland & CJ). My man, we just need to try, yah! If we don't try we'll never know!

Did someone said Hey was disapointed that's why he wants to leave? Man your funny... if disapointed is the word to use as to why he wants to leave then what word should we use as fans and Liberians to determined if he should stay or not base on the bad and disapointing results he had led the team to. It is his game plan that the team has played four games with disapointing results to. See, we need to stop settling for litle stuff and set our goals high with a decent youth program, getting a better coach weather he is from europe or not, and perparing our young team 4-5 years. Let us not make Mr. Hey feel like he has done a great job when we can't even win a single home game. If it was a local coach we would've all been on him...! So why not tell this coach the truth! He has not done so well... if i was doing his envaluation, he will be gone. May God bless the Lone Star.

No bro, CJ can not play for Liberia. And he's over as a player, going downhill. I don't think he will get back on top. Anyways, he is officially a Dutch player with Liberian roots, so the story about him playing for the Lone Star is over. But who cares, we tried to get him! Kadala Kromah invited him to play in 2004, but he refused to answer to the Lone Star.  He did not answer to LFA's telephone calls and he ignored the faxes. So, who gives a damn...? If the man "felt" like a Dutch (he felt the Dutch money, to be exact, and the possibility to gain huge fame)... let him learn from his mistakes.

I agree on Alex Nimo though, and I would like to mention Alex Nimely again! We should call up these 2 young guys soon, because they're seriously talented. Need to work more, but they are stars in the making. When those English fans and managers call Alex Nimely a wonderkid, that's BIG, believe me!

Weahfan, I'm not arguing with you, but where is the proof or final word on this. This isn't about you and I, it's about Lone Satr trying to recruit all the best Liberian talents around so it's not over until the LFA says so. We can go back and forth, but that's why I suggested that the legal minds look into this because it's a legal matter. And we all know how lawyers can find loop holes in verbage, terminology, and language. When Kromah invited him, he had hopes of playing for Holland in the WC (ex. Salomom Kalou). Like I said before, we know he won't be playing for Holland so that's an enticing tool for him to play for a national team (Liberia). He's not the first and won't be the last to not answer phone calls or ignore faxes so let by gones be by gones. Ivory Coast and Mali are reaping he benefits from Kanoute and Kalou for being persisitent and not giving up on them. Let us be realistic, if you had the shot/opportunity to play for a country that frequents the WC (Holland) and a country (Liberia) that has been to only 2 ANC which will you take? That's the dilemma these kids have to face. Look at Vieira, Makelele, Adu, Seedorf, Davids, Kluivert, Dessially, etc, etc. Don't fault or blame the kid because he had other options, that's life! All of us aren't bless in the same way so that doesn't mean we should player hate. He may be in a slump, but he's still young so maybe with some motivation he could regain the form that moved him to Fulham. As we Liberians will say, "try you never know" and "goat luck and sheep luck nah da same!"

Sorry Titi12. I really wanted CJ to play for Liberia not only due to his talent but he's from my home county of Grand Gedeh. Unfortunately, the kid is ineligible to play for Liberia at this point in time. He's 23 years old and above the age limit of 21. Freddy Kanoute never played for france or any country prior to playing for Mali. Maybe we can try for CJ little brother. We have a better chance with him then CJ. Rules are rules and it's extremely difficult to change the whiteman's rule.

liberian, I'm not saying break any rules! All I'm saying is investigate and/or explore and comeback with concrete findings. I read the rules and I think I understand it bit, but I'm not a lawyer so I might be missing something. If someone can explain to me what FIFA means by "competition" than I'll drop the issue, but until then I need clarification. CJ might have played in friendlies, but to my knowledge he never played in a competition for Holland senior MNT. When he wore the Dutch senior MNT jersey, he was around/under 21 because it was right after the u21 world championships in 2005/2006. Kanoute played for France u21 team and if I'm not mistaken, I think Kalou either played or was selected by Van Basten until his Dutch papers hit a snag which impeded him from going to the WC06 so he ended up reverting back to Ivory Coast after the WC06. While his papers were in the Dutch courts he might have even played for Holland senior MNT in WC friendlies, but don't quote me on this. Rules are rules, but they're also open to interpretation and that's where lawyers come in. Also, some rules can be challenged on a case by case basis (ex. Bosman trade rule). Let LFA legal counsel do some work for change since that's why the Liberian people pays him/her. Oh, by the way, Kanoute was about 26/27 when he first played for Mali.
