defeat factors

Post by tabellahtech on Mon Jun 23, 2008 3:37 am

Hey guys, thanks for your prompt contributions to my post "another defeat". Some of us,
Liberians, have started blaming the coach already, which is not a
strange thing in the Liberian culture. The real problem of the poor
performances owes its roots to the MYS and the LFA.These two football authorities have failed to properly execute their functions on many occasions and I don't think they are going to change any time soon. When the great Weah Eleven needed the services of a quality coach, they turned a blind eye forgetting that a negative consequences were related to their action. When the MYS and LFA allowed the Lone star of 2000-2003 (Weah XI), the best generation of players country has ever realized to perish, I knew that it would take another decade to get any where close to where we once sat on the Football Stage. They should have relied on the introduction of new players to the famous Weah XI till they reached the point where they were certain of a postive replacement our the ageing talents.
Instead, they decided to take on the negative approach; quarelling with the players and not even considering the effects of the their retirement threats. To shift the blame on someone else, they brought in Antoine Hey. To the lay man, this was a very good method but to technicains and analysts like me, it was a trap. Bringing in a foreign coach, espcially a white one, was a crafty idea of the MYS and LFA to shift their blames. Now that their ideas seem brilliant, they can relax and watch the coach and player go under severe criticism.
The MYS and the LFA are the ones failing Liberian football. A good example is the putting into the dust bin of the amout of $75,000 (US) that the German government willingly alloted for their training in Germany.

No one commented on this when I posted it last month so read this and you'll also understand part of the problem:

Those were really genuine points you raised. It is unfortunate that no one responded to such a post. I have just recently joined the site and will definitely contribute to such great ideas. Keep the posts coming in.

My hope/dream is that true tebellah lovers will get to the root of the problem instead of focusing on these short term goals. THe LFA and Lone Star need a road map. We need 4-5 years to build a team or program. Lone Star is getting the funds so inviting players, paying their traveling fees, requestiing playrs from clubs, and providing stipend when on national duties should all be a possibility and done professionally. We just need to be professional, plan for the future, and have attainable long term goals.

I just joined the site too.., But you know i'm not too suprised that floks wouldn't respond to important topics my friend Titi12. I just read it and it's the truth but most Liberians don't like the truth because they are not used to it. I respect you and Tabellahtech because you guys and i are on the same page as to what the problems are. But i got to disagree with you a litle bit on this point Tabellahtect, The MYS and LFA we know got a big problem, But this coach has messed up and has contributed to the bad results we getting. He accepted the job understanding the difficulties and he when right along with the short term goals of the same MYS and LFA. He should've known better as a so call professional coach, but i debt that he is. I don't think he is capable of leading the Lone Star with the long term goals that we really need.

Danield, all they want to talk about is strategy, formation, predictions, blah, blah. The main and number one strategy should be youth soccer/football development in Liberia! I think Coach Hey is/was after the $$$ because he should have known better, but I really can't blame him for being after the $$$$. We (Danield, Tabellahtech, and I) aren't professional coaches, but we can see that youth development is the problem with Liberian football. Both parties (Hey & LFA/MYS) were/are at fault for this debacle. Hey give false hope becasue he saw $$$ and the LFA/MYS is more concern about short term goals/result (WC). The $10K a month that is allocated for Hey, they can give me half of that and I'll move to Liberia asap and get the whole Liberian football or Lone Star situation in order. I swear, oh! I won't be the coach because I don't have the credentials, but I'll implement programs to develop the youth players and the game. All those LFA and/or MYS officials are a joke. Losing players passport, can't fax players team on time, and they don't even have a database of Liberian players and youth around the world. Even kids with Liberian ancestry they should have an eye on them. Oh well, Lone Star isn't going anywhere until we have a 4-5 year plan with benchmarks and goals.

HAHAHAHA....! man you funny Titi12. By the way, call me up and i will be your number two. But on a serious not, Liberia got a long way to go for us to get back on track with our game. Look i just left europe and the game is serious. Countries are investing millions of dollars and time into the game. It's even happing right in some parts of Africa, Why? not because they're better then us or got more money, or more means, it's because they believed in the game, got plans, youth programs, adcadamy, and a decent long term goals. It's sad that we love the game so much but got leaders that don't believed in it. they believe in thier slef interest. Why do this coach has to leave for his country after every game???! What kind of unprofessional stuff is that?? He hasn't even call or visited his team captain..! I never thought this fonny coach had the credentials to take us out of the same mess that exsit at the MYS and LFA Titi12. This is one of those dudes from europe that's playing stupid with us, he knew that they were going to respect him because he's white and is from europe... This men is not commited to the team and the Liberian people and really needs to leave for good. But until we can elect floks at the MYS and LFA that has some respect for first themselves and the people they work for (Liberians), we will always have those unprofessional white coaches play stupid with us and the development of our game. May God bless the Lone Star.
