“We enjoyed Ansu Toure and are sorry to see him go, but we are excited about the acquisition of Sean Cameron,” said Atlanta head coach Jason Smith. “Unfortunately [Cameron] is coming off an injury and won’t be available for another 10 days or so, but we are looking forward to him putting on a Silverback jersey.”
Cameron, a 6’1, 175 pound midfielder, will look to bring a strong presence to the midfield for Atlanta. He has scored two goals and assisted two as well for a total of six points, second best on the Miami team.
The 23 year-old currently plays on the Guayana Men’s National Team. Cameron has spent the last two seasons with the Blues after competing for Rutgers University and the University of Connecticut.
In the past week, the Silverbacks also signed defender Brent Sancho, a former Trinidad & Tobago national team player, and also traded Nathan Knox for former Minnesota Thunder forward Aaron Paye. The Silverbacks will next face the Charleston Battery on Saturday, August 16th at home in a Southern Derby Cup fixture.
