We still need to call Up Ansu Toure..The Kid is in Great Form and could provide a scoring punch that we need...

I am concerned about the central Defence..With the skipper out on rehab , I do not know who will pair with Dixon in the central defense..Is he thinking about playing Farko in the central defense role..Remember he played there before for real Salt lake when Pope was out

I see that the coach did not call up Melvin King..Who is going to be backup for Crayton?

Most def..Ansu needs to be called up! Ansu is having a great season he showed off against Several south American teams during their preseason tour of the US. They just got back from Canada he scored 2 goal and had an assist. The kid is doing all the right things....I have been to 6 homes games in a roll.........With the addition of Aaron Paye i look for the silver backs to make a seriour run at the A-League Title.......A lot of his short coming are uncontrollable.....As you know we do not have a scouting system therefore the tech staff rely on Media, Needs and past performance when coming up with these list. His GM Micheal Oki is very flexible but I doubt if he will make him available to "justify" while they are in a serious playoff chase.

I think willis will fit in at his natural position Left back...and kinda play like sergio romos of Real where he is more of a offensive mid fielder then a full back. Do not forget David Gbemie can play Defense to.

With regard to back-up goalie they currently have three options Clarence Roberts (Black Stars) Melvin King (Free Agent) and former National Team Player Anthony Togba who has been in the camp for the past 1.5 to two months to the dismay of several fans.

Silverbacks Transfer Toure; Acquire Sean Cameron
Lone Star Call up for Game vs. Gambia N995_thumba
Wednesday August 13, 2008

ATLANTA, GA – The Atlanta Silverbacks have traded midfielder Ansu Toure in return for Miami FC Blues midfielder Sean Cameron and an undisclosed transfer fee, pending USSF clearance.
Toure came to Atlanta from the Minnesota Thunder after the 2007 season. The Liberian native scored six goals and recorded three assists for the Silverbacks in 19 games.
The 15 points registered by Toure currently ranks him seventh in the league.
“We enjoyed Ansu Toure and are sorry to see him go, but we are excited about the acquisition of Sean Cameron,” said Atlanta head coach Jason Smith. “Unfortunately [Cameron] is coming off an injury and won’t be available for another 10 days or so, but we are looking forward to him putting on a Silverback jersey.”
Cameron, a 6’1, 175 pound midfielder, will look to bring a strong presence to the midfield for Atlanta. He has scored two goals and assisted two as well for a total of six points, second best on the Miami team.
The 23 year-old currently plays on the Guayana Men’s National Team. Cameron has spent the last two seasons with the Blues after competing for Rutgers University and the University of Connecticut.
In the past week, the Silverbacks also signed defender Brent Sancho, a former Trinidad & Tobago national team player, and also traded Nathan Knox for former Minnesota Thunder forward Aaron Paye. The Silverbacks will next face the Charleston Battery on Saturday, August 16th at home in a Southern Derby Cup fixture. This is a provisional List..It is to check avilibility and then will be the final list..I also think that Weeks is fighting for 1st team shirt so they are leaving him out for Now...

I see kelvin is off the list also...His remarks against the coach and the statements he made are what is keeping him off the team.

What I would like to see is Gbandi also..With Our Skipper out who will partner with Dixon in the central defance...I know that Farko has experience and the height to play on the left side of the central defense..that can move Gbandi to the left back post...

I think his remarks against the coach has little to do with him being left off the list…..but rather a lot ot do with the development of Mid fielders and the systems more specifically the development of people in his position like Dulee Johnson, Ben Teekloh & Zah as potential 90+ minutes guy and second team guys Esaiah Benson, Zah etc. The addition of Kelvin would had usher conflict into the mix…..his demand for playing time, fans media questioning his lack of playing time.
Gbandi Play in the Adecco League and his team is not doing too good. I am not sure about his performance….however, base on his experience and the need for in interior defender he should be seriously considered over the less experienced Gbemie. Willis capable of playing central defense but I would rather see him use his speed on the flanks!

This is what I was saying also...You saying the same thing but then you disagree...? The remarks has all to do with kelvin being left off the team....Plus..He said that he was done with national team play so why call him again?....That is the point i was making and you also backed it up with the above statement

No MB- We are not saying the same thing. In your previous statement u said that Kelvin was left of the list because he made remarks about the coach. In response I said that was not the case. I attributed his decision to leave off the list to the development of the Dulee, Teekloh and Zah in the same position as first stringers and Benson, zortiah and weeks as solid contributers. How is that the same thing we saying………….
