Re: Game Day (Gambia vs Liberia)
2-0? Just incredible!
I have a feeling like we're letting them go. We're giving up too easily, the determination of our players is low as hell, that's how I see it.
We need someone who will bring the winning mentality to our team and try to erase this inferiority complex that we seem to have.
I think the presence of George Weah or Kelvin Sebwe could just be the solution.

Re: Game Day (Gambia vs Liberia)
It makes me wonder why we always have at least 3 goals in the back of the net, every time we lose a match since 2002.... And we didn't lose from the likes of Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana or Nigeria...Damn it, this was GAMBIA!!! And before Gambia, there was Algeria (3-0), Rwanda (4-0), Togo (3-0), Equatorial Guinea, the list goes on.... With these teams (like Gambia, Rwanda and Togo) beating us this convincingly, I don't see how we are ever going to move up and get positive results.
Something is terribly wrong with our team, but I don't believe it's the lack of talent. It's mostly our inferiority complex that we have embraced since 2002....

Exactly my point! That is the reason why Liberian football is where it is right now......Winning is not easy....everytime we loose we have the tendency to suggest wholesale changes!

Re: Game Day (Gambia vs Liberia)
$10,0000 (Ghana pay $58,000 monthly) is pocket change when it comes to paying national team coaches.....lets not do this see saw/ yoyo thing. lets come up with a plan and stick to it.....Gambia, Algeria and Senegal are programs and we Liberia barely have a team. We need to look at thing comprehensively....targeting 2010 was unrealistic if you ask me. In my view it will take 3-5 years of aggressive planning and implimentation to get to where we need to be........

Re: Game Day (Gambia vs Liberia)
That is why we need to look at the Money Liberia Pays....Ghana GDP is way more then Liberia..We have health care...Education..Current..issues that Ghana has dealt with. The caliber of Coaches That makes that kind of Money are way above Hey League
We need a Youth program and spend the Money to train Local coaches to teah the game to the Youths...
Hey was a mistake...He lost control of the team a long time ago

Re: Game Day (Gambia vs Liberia)
This is the problem monroviaboy, those guys just want to come on here and make predictions and unbelieveable comparism. We all understand that good coaches cost alot, but the fact is Ghana is way ahead of us in a lots of ways. Financially, Sports organizationally/programs, better team right now.... just to name a few. So how in the word can anyone compared this coach salary, production wise to any other coach in Africa???? Monroviaboy is right, Mr. Hey has not brought any good, development, pround, to this team since he took over. He has had the highest salary, support in years and have had the lowest production in years. Not that we don't have good players, the problem is we don't have a team! How did we beat Ghana, Nigeria, competed with South Africa during Weah/Debbah/Joe.N them time?? We didn't have a white coach, no international friendly... but we had a team.. they knew each other, play together for a long time and we got good results.
Guys we need to come on here and have real conversations... with the facts and realities Liberia soccer faces. I wrote a post with the topic "Gone G Weah, J. Debbah, Did the Lone Star Winning Days Follow??.." And it seems that nobody wants to have the conversation. It's interested that we don't want to talk about the feature of this team but spent time discussing how bad we got beatten. I will asked that you read it and let me know what's your thoughts are and the feature of this mess we are in. May God bless the Lone Star.

Re: Game Day (Gambia vs Liberia)
With our administration approach to the game God will never bless our Lone Star. What is up with the constant fight between LFA and MYS?? Local League? Facilities? ETC. Those are all issues that are hold the national team back. We need to get away from the unrealistic approach and get down to a proven method/formula for success. The approach should be a comprehensive approach rather then a quick fix inbedded with unrealistic goals. Example "making the 2010." Are you kidding me??? We had no chance to make CAN or SA 2010! We need to focus on building a program and not a team.
With regard to Coach Salary- GDP has nothing to do with it cuz GOL is not paying. The market rate/coach qualification determines the salary. If you follow those guidelines $10,000 is far below the rate for a National team coach . Even Togo/Benin pay their national team coach more then Liberia. That being said at that end of the day we always refer to results. After the Algeria game those in charge should evaluate the entire program.
See below-who responsibility is it to train local coaches and train youth?? GOL/League or Charity? I can tell you right now GOL is not responsible for training kids and coaches. Secondly, if Hey was a mistake make it know to the relevant authorities. We can not keep second guessing ourselves. One minute we want this next minute we want that……..We need proper planning.
